Pam has over forty-five years of experience in the field of education both in traditional and Montessori classrooms. She has a B.S. degree in Secondary Education, Master’s level work in Montessori education, certifications in the Montessori Method at the Primary, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary and Middle School levels. She has also run Montessori teacher training centers and lectured at local colleges. She is a speaker at national Montessori conferences and has written articles for Montessori magazines.
Heather joined Westwood in 1993 from her directorship position at the YMCA. She holds a bachelor’s from Texas Christian University and is a certified Montessori Guide. Heather has conducted training workshops for the International Baccalaureate around the country and has been on authorization teams for schools seeking the IB World School authorization. She has participated as a team member for AdvancEd (SACS), assisting local schools seeking to receive initial or renewal accreditation.
Lesa is a partner at Pearson Adair. She has over thirty years of experience in the energy sector holding engineering, operations management, and marketing/risk management positions in the industry. She currently consults on technical and commercial issues for clients with interests in the energy sector. Lesa holds a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Oklahoma State University and an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from the Cox School at Southern Methodist University. Ms. Adair also serves as a Alternate Director on the board for the Advancial Federal Credit Union which provides financial services to over 85,000 members from branches located in five states and online access worldwide. She is a licensed professional engineer in Texas and Oklahoma, and a certified mediator in Texas.
Susan is a local attorney who focuses her practice on family law. She has worked in the Dallas area for several years and owns her own law firm, the Law Office of Susan E. Duesler. She attended private schools during her elementary and high school years in Beaumont, Texas. Susan went to Rhodes College for her undergraduate degree and graduated from Baylor University Law School.
Westwood also recognizes the need for advisory in the areas that are not currently served by our Board of Directors. As such, the WCA lend their expertise in specific committees that serve Westwood in capacities such as strategic planning.
Sami is a “lifer” at Westwood, having started in Westwood at preschool age. She graduated from our Middle School the year before we started high school and attended Episcopal School of Dallas. She went on to graduate from the Tisch School at New York University. Sami worked for several non-profit organizations and now works in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area as an executive for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
Tonya is a doctoral student studying higher education leadership. She serves as the UOPX DFW Alumni Chapter President and has over 10 years in education leadership, board development, administration, curriculum development, coaching and training. She is a Midwest native who holds a Master’s in Business Administration and an undergraduate degree in Labor Studies. In her leadership roles Tonya has received an Excellence in Education Award, a Justice Speaks Project Urban Agenda Civic Literacy Award, Dept. of Economics Labor Studies Award, The Mayor’s Award and the Spirit of Detroit Award.
