      Westwood Upper School Admission

Dear Westwood Candidate and Family,

We are pleased that you have expressed an interest in joining the Westwood community to work toward an International Baccalaureate Diploma. The IB Diploma is the highest level of achievement available for high school students in the world.

College Preparation

The IB curriculum is designed to meet or exceed the entrance requirements of the most selective colleges and universities throughout the world. Many colleges and universities offer advanced standing or course credits to students with strong IB exam results. Even more important is the preparation for college that The Westwood School provides. A student graduating from the Westwood IB program is ready to tackle any college program.

In-Depth Study, Broad Range of Subjects

The IB program involves in-depth study in a broad range of subjects representing six fields of knowledge. The Diploma candidate is required to select one subject from each area. The studies culminate in a series of oral and written examinations taken by IB candidates worldwide. More information on the program can be obtained on the IBO website www.ibo.org
